Selex Gruppo Commerciale

Innovation, training and synergies

Growing together by sharing knowledge

The value of working together lies in the exchange of experiences and the shared development of projects. The strength of Selex Group stems from its ability to create synergies to achieve common goals. The Central Organisation supports its partners by promoting innovation and the development of skills. With this purpose, Selex Lab and the Synergies & Innovation Committee operate to optimise processes and define agreements for joint purchasing.

Selex Lab: a lab to develop skills

Selex Lab builds on data, the analysis of best practices, listening to customers and observing market innovation to develop replicable models, methods and tools capable of supporting Partner Companies in decision-making processes and in the evolution of stores. Its scope includes: Training, Cluster Projects, Evolving Categories and consumption trends, Format Projects, the Format Innovation Committee, Customer Listening, and Market Research & Data.

Training combines classroom sessions and webinars dedicated to developing operational skills, interpreting trends and leveraging data to improve departments, assortments and processes. These initiatives are complemented by webinars on evolving categories and consumption trends, focused on changing consumer worlds and the ability to anticipate their impact.

Cluster Projects involve representatives of the Partner Companies in joint work on market analysis, store observation and the definition of operational guidelines. The areas addressed in 2025 — Home Care, Personal Care and self-service Fresh — generated models applicable to assortments, layouts and customer experience, with the goal of strengthening distinctiveness and departmental consistency.

The Customer Listening project collects and interprets reviews and feedback from multiple touchpoints, turning them into insights through data analysis. The voice of Customers thus becomes a shared asset to improve assortments, services and perceived quality.

Designing the future

Selex Lab operates as an innovation laboratory, anticipating trends and preparing Selex Group to face future challenges. In 2025 it launched the Format Innovation Committee, a cross-functional working group dedicated to the evolution of the store: from layouts to the role of people, from extra-core services to the Customer experience, including digitalisation and sustainability.

For 2026, Selex Lab will launch the School of Skills, a programme aimed at staffed service departments, with the objective of developing product culture, improving service quality and enhancing partners’ best practices through a continuous training pathway. The initiative aims to consolidate competencies, foster operational consistency among the Partner Companies and support professional development in key departments.
